Meet Author, Austin Channing Brown

Join ONEplace for a special opportunity for a luncheon with author, Austin Channing Brown. Brown is the author of the 2018 New York Times bestselling memoir I’m Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness, public speaker, and founder and CEO of Herself Media a Black-owned, women-led, independent multimedia company. Brown has spoken at LinkedIN, Bank of America, Google, and for many nonprofits and other events. Her work centers the Black experience in America and engages a diverse audience in the work of racial justice, with workshop titles like “Ally to Accomplice” and “How to Survive Racism in an Organization That Claims to Be Antiracist”.
In April 2023, Brown’s newest book will be widely available. I’m Still Here (Adapted for Young Readers): Loving Myself in a World Not Made for Me is an adaptation of the powerful New York Times bestselling account of growing up Black and female in America, completely rewritten with new stories for young readers. As a participant, you will have an opportunity to receive a copy of one of the books at no cost to you.
Austin will also be in conversation with Samantha Irby on the evening of 4/12 for a public event at this is a bookstore. RSVPs for this separate event are also welcomed and/or encouraged to be shared with interested colleagues and friends.
