First Saturday with Promise to Read

Calling all students, families, and community members who want to develop a strong foundation of literacy. Each month will feature experts, books, hands-on learning, fun, prizes, and more. Registration required.

  • April 4: From birth, adults who support young children have a responsibility to help foster the foundational literacy skills of children. Based on the Science of Reading and Essential Literacy Practices, this training is geared for anyone that works with young children in a community, church, or summer program.  You’ll learn practical skills to implement in your programs that will support literacy development.
  • May 2: Teacher Appreciation Month—Teachers are a treasure to students, families, and the community and on this day we will celebrate them. We will offer literacy resources and giveaways for teachers.
