OnePlace Equitable Hiring

Are you embarking on the process of hiring one or more staff people? Whether you’re doing it for the first time, or looking to take your skills at hiring equitably to the next level, our Equitable Hiring workshop is for you. Bring the role you’re hiring for and make meaningful progress on an equitable, effective hiring process. Leave with drafts of foundational materials and clear next steps for your hire.

Session Objectives
Participants will:
• Workshop a role they are soon-to-be or currently hiring for.
• Identify how bias often appears in hiring and get out of auto-pilot hiring practices.
• Identify the must-have skills and talents for the role.
• Identify opportunities to build a deep and diverse pool of candidates.
• Develop probing questions and job simulations tailored to the must-have skills and talents for the role.
• Learn best practices in using rubrics to mitigate biases among the selection team.
• Leave with drafts of foundational materials and clear next steps for your hire.

Training format:
The session is 3.5 hours, including breaks.

The online workshop will be conducted entirely over Zoom. To ensure a classroom-like experience, we ask participants to be present on video and in a quiet setting, and to attend the entire course. It will include participant-centered activities like writing exercises, discussions, small-group work, and role-plays.

This is a workshop, meaning that participants will spend significant time developing specific materials for their hire.
This workshop is ONLY for nonprofit employees directly engaged in the hiring process. Registrations are limited to 4 people per organization.

Facilitated by The Management Center

ONEplace will email you the zoom link before the training.

Because this workshop is an interactive experience, we must limit the number of participants. Once the workshop reaches capacity, we will contact you to confirm that you can still attend. Respectfully, we ask you to let us know if your plans change so we can offer your spot to another person on the waitlist.
