Beyond the Gender Binary: A Discussion about Respect, Inclusion, and Violence Prevention (Part 2)

This 8-hr virtual training series has been designed to engage participants in exploring cultural and individual perceptions about gender identity and expression, identify the impact of gender boxes and myths. This series aims to challenge societal norms, inviting participants to reimagine gender, while also identifying their own role and responsibility to intentionally interrupt the culture that sustains gender-based violence in our communities. Space will be made for practice, review, and reflection.
- March 4, 2025 – Part 1: Perspectives and Myths about Gender
This 4-hr virtual training session will address cultural and individual perspectives about gender identity and expression and unpack myths that contribute to marginalization. Participants will be encouraged to explore their own beliefs about gender identity and expression. - March 11, 2025 – Part 2: Strategies for Empathetic Response and Inclusion Practices
This 4-hr virtual training session aims to equip participants with skills and confidence to interrupt the culture of gender-based violence in our communities. This session focuses on the practical application of inclusion practices that increase a sense of belonging.
