When Love Takes Flight: Air and Space Sweethearts

What did publicist George Putnam desire more than seeing aviatrix Amelia Earhart’s name in lights? How did a wife’s love and loyalty inspire Charles Lindbergh to take flight? Discover these heartfelt stories and more as the Air Zoo explores air and space through a romantic lens. Learn about the secret courtships forbidden by Jackie Cochran’s Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) and hear about a promise made between two souls at the Romulus Army Airfield during World War II. Stories of Apollo mission husbands and wives will “fly you to the Moon,” and you’ll find out how a couple’s shared passion for flight led to the founding of a cherished local museum and science center.
