Our Bag of Books Sale coming:

Saturday, September 10 from 10am to 3:30pm in the Van Deusen Room, Central Library 3rd floor.

We’ll have thousands of books in categories of Fiction, Mystery, Romance, Sci-Fi, Non-Fiction, Art & Oversize, Cookbooks, Reference, Biography and books for children and youth. We will also sell DVD movies, music CDs and Audio Books on CD. $3.00 for a bag or 25¢ per item. Bring your own bag.

In the Friends Bookstore:

Our spotlights this week include beautiful books on Art and Architecture, with many titles on the Impressionists.  We  continue our feature on Cookbooks in like-new condition and for all Teachers and Educators planning their fall curriculum we have Education materials, from books on class-room instruction techniques to workbooks for all ages. We have over 100 new Fiction titles on the shelves, and a cart of half-priced Fiction on the patio. Every Music CD on our patio is new: in rock, motion picture tracks, pop, religious, rhythm and blues, jazz, folk, country and world categories.

In our Collections area, we have added the The Complete Story of Civilization by Will Durant. This eleven-volume set includes: Our Oriental Heritage; The Life of Greece; Caesar and Christ; The Age of Faith; The Renaissance; The Reformation; The Age of Reason Begins; The Age of Louis XIV; The Age of Voltaire; Rousseau and Revolution; The Age of Napoleon, all for $50.00.

Also in our collections: Nobel Prize Library by S.Y. Agnon and Ivo Adric, [1971] Hardcover, 19 of 20 Volume Set, published by Alexis Gregory, New York and CRM  Publishing, Del Mar, California, in very good condition for $30.00 and Mysteries of the Unknown by TIME LIFE BOOKS, a complete 33 volume set in very good condition for $100.00

This week we present a variety of Gardening books from Tough Plants for Tough Places and A Japanese Touch for Your Garden to the A-Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants. We also feature new titles in our Music category, including a set of vintage magazines on the Beatles, and a very nifty group of manuals on Scottish country dances.  We include additions to our Amish, Foreign Language and Science & Nature categories.
