Donating Books and Media

FRIENDS DONATIONS

We are now accepting donations without an appointment on Mondays and Saturdays from 10-12 and Wednesdays from 11-1 in the parking lot behind the Central Library. If you would prefer to schedule an appointment to drop off your donation you can call 269.553.7950 and a volunteer will return your call.

When you arrive, please take a parking place, and notify the volunteer at the KPL garage door of your arrival. The volunteer will roll a large box to your vehicle and take your donations.

GUIDELINES

We appreciate books in very good to excellent condition and are particularly looking for adult fiction, children’s picture books, and literature classics!

We are very grateful for your donations. It is truly a joy to see the many lovely books that you give us move to their next home. The Friends thanks you for helping us to support the Kalamazoo Public Library programs through their sales.

We welcome materials that are clean and in good condition. We cannot take books that are dirty, moldy, water stained, broken or torn, or that have notes written inside. Please do not drop off donations outside the open donation hours, or at any KPL location including Central’s drop box.
