Membership in Friends of the KPL

The membership year for the Friends of the Kalamazoo Public Library is based on our fiscal year, which runs from April 1 to March 31 of the following year, but you may join at any time, and your membership will continue until the end of the current fiscal year. Beginning in March of each year, we will enroll only for the membership year that will start on April 1.

Annual memberships are $20 for an individual or $35 for a family. Any additional donation, now or at any time during the year, will also be gratefully received.

Your dues and donations are used to support the activities of the Kalamazoo Public Library.

  • A 10% discount on all in-store purchases.
  • Eligibility for special member-only events, including the presales that precede the annual Gift Book Sale and Bag of Books sales. Additional member-only events may also be scheduled and announced during the year.
  • A member-only discount on any book listed by the Friends of KPL on the worldwide online bookstore AbeBooks (www.bit.ly/FKPL-on-Abe). The amount of the AbeBooks discount varies by item; you may email [email protected] to learn the member-discounted price for a particular item. You would then both purchase and pick up the book in the bookstore rather than purchasing online.
