The Orpheum

Downtown Kalamazoo Theater (1911-1949)


North side of East Main Street (Michigan Avenue), east of Burdick Street (109 East Main Street).

Floorplans for this site are not available, but would generally be similar to the New Theatre. Seating was claimed to be nearly 300 including the balcony. Designed by Kalamazoo architect Rockwell A. LeRoy.

Opened and operated as a film theater from 5 August 1911 until May 1949.
