Loan Periods and Fines

Loan periods vary by item type. Due dates will be listed on the email or print receipt you receive when checking out. You can also see your check outs and due dates in My Account. Use your library card number (no spaces between numbers) and your PIN (typically the last four digits of your phone number).

Lost/Replacement Charges & Overdue Accounts

The library charges replacement costs and processing fees for damaged or lost items. Materials that are more than 10 days overdue will result in your account being blocked until they are returned. You will be billed the replacement cost for any items that are damaged or overdue by 30 days. Accounts owing more than $30 will be sent to collections if the materials are not returned or paid for after 21 days from the billing date. This information is NOT reported to credit bureaus. If you have replacement costs and processing fees for damaged or lost items, you will be unable to check out materials but will still have computer access. To check out materials on an account that has been referred to a collection agency, the balance needs to be paid in full.

Paying Fees

Fees may also be paid at any library location at the circulation desk or check out kiosk.

Notices

Notices will be sent for overdue KPL items and holds. You may choose to receive these notices via phone, text, or email. If choosing email, you will also receive courtesy notices reminding you of when items are coming due. Notices are not sent for outstanding fines or unreturned materials.
