Resolute-Humble Leaders

What is a Resolute-Humble Leader and how does ONEplace work to encourage and equip them?  Some context on the term, which comes from ONEplace’s Cause and Purpose:

“At ONEplace, we believe that a strong nonprofit sector is critical to the success of any community. Nonprofit leaders interface with residents from all socio-economic strata as well as the business, faith and government communities. Encouraging their development builds the human infrastructure required for thriving communities.

Our purpose is to encourage and equip Resolute-Humble Leaders. Found in any staff or volunteer position, Resolute-Humble Leaders take full ownership of their role, seeking the resources required and developing the relationships necessary to fulfill their tasks. They listen and learn from others, regardless of their position; and they teach and share with others, knowing that, while knowledge may be power, shared knowledge is leveraged power.

We envision a day when a critical mass of Resolute-Humble Leaders is spread throughout our area, collaborating to successfully address deeply entrenched community problems. Success is not understood as solving a problem once and for all. Rather, success is a state of continual improvement in which a community admits and addresses their problems and opportunities in a spirit of cooperation.”

The concept of Resolute-Humble leadership is our attempt to name the type of leadership development business we’re in. We’re not just looking to train leaders, but a specific type of leaders: Resolute and Humble Leaders. I’d love to hear your feedback, how does this concept resonate with you? Is it clear enough? Do you aspire to be a Resolute-Humble Leader? Is anything missing from our definition? Do you consider yourself a Resolute-Humble Leader?
