“The People, Yes”: A Participatory Community Reading

Join Kalamazoo poets and writers to help read or just listen to selections of Carl Sandburg’s epic poem, “The People, Yes,” to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the United States in the spirit of civic engagement and education. Written in the wake of the Great Depression, “The People, Yes”, explores challenging themes including wealth inequality, immigration, labor, war, diversity, unity, and more. The event is free and open to the public. Please lend your voice to the community!

All Kalamazoo Public Library events are free and open to the public unless otherwise indicated in the event description. A library card is not required to attend.
