Warming Centers in Kalamazoo
Kalamazoo Public Library is dedicated to serving our community. All winter long, the library provides a warm, safe, and welcoming space for people in our community during our open hours, as a designated warming center. Although we’re not a designated warming shelter, we invite everyone to come in, take a break from the cold, and enjoy what the library has to offer. During inclement winter weather, here’s our guide to warming spaces and those available around Kalamazoo:
- Warming center: A safe, heated space to spend time during daytime operating hours.
- Warming shelter: A space to stay overnight, with beds, support, and resources.
- Warming station: A quick place to step inside, warm up, and head back out.
Note: The library may also close if weather conditions are unsafe for staff and patrons.
