2022 Summer Reading Challenge Kicks Off June 1!

Explore an Ocean of Possibilities

Did you know that reading for just 20 minutes a day can open up a world of adventure and earn you fabulous prizes? We invite youth from birth up to 12th grade, to record reading progress on the summer reading game board available on June 1st in the summer issue of PRISM located at all KPL locations.

For every 20 days of reading, participants can stop by the library to claim a free prize book. Keep reading for 60 days, and you will win the final grand prize!

As a special bonus, this year you can get your first free book just for signing up, so what are you waiting for? Learn more at kpl.gov/src.

If you are planning on participating in all the fun festivities of JumpstART (formerly June Jubilee) in downtown Kalamazoo on June 4, be sure to pop by KPL’s Central Library and sign up! We will have a table under the portico 10 am–2 pm.

Also, be sure to look for KPL staff and the shiny Mobile Library during the Do Dah Parade! The library will join literary forces with Kalamazoo RESA’s Great Start Collaborative’s Talking is Teaching campaign to Tune in, Take Turns and Talk More as we discover our way through KalamaZOO. Costumed characters, giveaways, and music along the way as our storybooks come to life along the parade route!

We hope to see you there!
