Pine Island School
Texas Township
Location: District #10 – Section 17, north side of Q Avenue, east of 3rd Street.
Kalamazoo County 1890, Published by Wm. C. Sauer. Local History Room
There were no teachers listed for Pine Island School in any of the county school directories for 1921-22 and 1925 through 1947. It is likely that there were too few students in the district to warrant hiring a teacher. What few there were probably attended another school as tuition students. The district ceased to be listed in the directories at all beginning in the 1947-48 directory and was probably formally absorbed into another district at that time.
