Are You Up for the Challenge?

Join us for the summer season of the Adult Reading Challenge! Bookmarks with 10 reading prompts will be available at all KPL locations, or print one here (PDF).

Read a book of your choice for 3 of the 10 prompts listed below to earn a prize. If you need inspiration, check out the collections hyperlinked in the reading prompts below. After you’ve read three or more books from the challenge, claim your prize by either:

• Filling out your bookmark and bring it to any branch to trade it in for your prize, or
• Fill out the online form below then come into any branch to claim your prize.

Prizes

Each quarter (winter, spring, summer, and fall) will feature a custom seasonal pin design. Collect all four and show them off for bragging rights!

Prizes can be claimed at any KPL location at branch circulation desks or the reference desk on the 1st floor of Central Library beginning July 1.

Reading Prompts

1. A dystopic novel
2. A book featuring an ocean voyage 
3. A book with an animal as a main character
4. A book that was written the year you were born
5. A book of short stories
6. A book from the list of books removed from the Naval Academy Library
7. A book with a robot, cyborg, or AI character
8. A book that features a lighthouse
9. A book with a gem, mineral, or rock in the title
10. A book by a trans or nonbinary author
