Are You Up for the Challenge?

Join us for the fall season of the Adult Reading Challenge! Bookmarks with 10 reading prompts will be available at all KPL locations, or print one here (PDF).

Read a book of your choice for 3 of the 10 prompts listed below to earn a prize. If you need inspiration, check out the collections hyperlinked in the reading prompts below. After you’ve read three or more books from the challenge, claim your prize by either:

  • Filling out your bookmark and bring it to any branch to trade it in for your prize, or
  • Fill out the online form below then come into any branch to claim your prize.

Prizes

Each quarter (winter, spring, summer, and fall) will feature a custom seasonal pin design. Collect all four and show them off for bragging rights!

Prizes can be claimed at any KPL location at branch circulation desks or the reference desk on the 1st floor of Central Library beginning October 1.

Reading Prompts

  1. A book with a flower or plant in the title
  2. A gothic novel
  3. A book written by a Japanese or Japanese American author
  4. A book with a cover you associate with Halloween (Spooky cats or pumpkins!)
  5. A book in which a competition or race happens
  6. A book you may have started by didn’t finish (You can do it!)
  7. A horror novel by a BIPOC author
  8. A book from a celebrity book club
  9. A book with a protagonist with a disability
  10. A book set in Michigan
