Summary

Ted Kramer's wife leaves him with their six year old son so that she may find herself. He struggles to care for his son and hold down his job. After he comes to enjoy the parenting task and has made progress in his relationship with his son, his wife returns and wants custody of their child. A custody battle in the courts ensues.
