Summary

Otto Olsen is the smallest boy on the soccer team and is finding it hard to gain acceptance from his teammates. His best friend as well as most everyone in town is leaving for summer vacation. The youngster is left behind to spend his vacation at home. When a charismatic stranger named Frank appears, he takes advantage of Otto's naivete, convincing him to throw a stone at a referee during a game. Thus begins a chain of serious events involving his family, his neighbors and the people that surround them, turning Otto's childhood world upside down.
