Summary

Set in 1962 London and inspired by true events, this story captures two historical movements that grow and clash throughout the era--the Nazi-inspired National Socialist Movement and a Jewish anti-fascist movement known as The 62 Group. The NSM were led by a charismatic Cambridge-educated teacher, Colin Jordan, who had Hitler ideations and galvanized white, working men to march up and down the country. The 62 Group were formed by the Jewish community and their allies--cabbies, workers, unionists. Their mission was to shut down the rising spread of fascism and stop it from entering the mainstream, and to defend their community from violent attacks by the far right. Vivien Epstein, a young Jewish hairdresser from Manchester, finds herself the unlikely gatekeeper between the two movements. When she follows her lover into danger, Vivien finds herself going undercover with the fascists--not only for him, but for the sake of her country.
