Summary
Part documentary and part drama, this films reenacts actual events with narration from the real-life subjects of the film. In 1985, two young British friends, Joe Simpson and Simon Yates, travelled to a remote corner of Peru. Ambitious mountaineers, their aim was to conquer the unclimbed west face of a notorious 21,000 ft. peak "Siula Grande". After climbing the mountain, the young men faced their greatest challenge yet: getting back down. But when Simpson shattered his leg in an awful fall and the friends were separated by a series of devastating mishaps, their individual journeys became part of mountaineering legend.
