Sustainable Craft Brewing in Kalamazoo

Western Michigan University history professor and associate dean in WMU’s College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Ed Martini; WMU chemistry professor, Dr. Steve Bertman; and Kalamazoo Valley Community College instructor, master brewer, and Hops Fellow at Kalsec, Mike Babb, speak about the Sustainable Brewing Program they helped design at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Western Michigan University.

The Kalamazoo Valley Community College Sustainable Brewing Program and Western Michigan University offer several academic opportunities for students interested in a career in the brewing field. The heart of the program is a Sustainable Brewing Certificate offered at the Kalsec® Center for Sustainable Brewing Education located as the new KVCC Bronson Healthy Living Campus in Kalamazoo, MI.

Presented on Thursday, September 17, 2015, as part of the 2015 Booktoberfest/Overdue Brew programming series at Kalamazoo Public Library.
