Mark Crawford–Divided Loyalty: Four Sons of the Revolution

Kalamazoo Public Library presents Writers’ Block, a forum where independently published local writers can tell the world about their work. This episode features author Mark Crawford discussing his book “Divided Loyalty: Four Sons of the Revolution.”

About the Book
“Divided Loyalty” is based on the true story of the four Crawford brothers, living and farming side-by-side as the American Revolution breaks out. The sons of immigrants, share deep family roots and loyalty, but hold radically different views on the war. Two decide to fight for independence and two decide to support King and Crown. ‘Divided Loyalty’ shares an authentic portrait of life, death, joy, and heartbreak as our nation is born. Can the brothers survive deeply divided loyalties? In the midst of civil war, which loyalty comes first – family or nation?
