Kalamazoo Area Boys in Blue, 1861-1865

John Urschel, archivist, historian and author of the Michigan Boys in Blue series, follows the soldiers of the five most heavily-recruited Civil War regiments from the Kalamazoo area. Presented Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Kalamazoo Public Library. www.kpl.gov The Michigan Boys in Blue project began as a book about Civil War servicemen from Buchanan, and soon became a series. Volume two includes select men from Decatur, Dowagiac, Volinia Township, Marcellus, Mattawan, Paw Paw, Lawrence and Hartford. Volume three is slated to focus on Grand Rapids. Future volumes may ultimately cover the entire state of Michigan.
