Jonah Frick: Cassie
Kalamazoo Public Library presents Writers Block, a forum where independently published local writers can tell the world about their work. This edition features Jonah Frick, author of Cassie.
In Book II of the Bradley series, meet Cassie Rayner—an ordinary teenager with extraordinary powers. When Max Klein, accompanied by his new partner Angel, journeys to the year 2018 in search of the one person who can save his son Bradley from the clutches of the demon Jeffrey, they discover Cassie’s remarkable abilities. However, they aren’t the only ones interested in Cassie’s supernatural gifts. Hunted by the government due to her origins as a subject of their secretive experiments, Cassie becomes the center of a relentless manhunt. Things begin to look quite bleak for the teenager when a deranged FBI hitman, with a track record of always completing the job by whatever means necessary, is set on her trail.
In a thrilling race against time, Cassie and her alcoholic father embark on a perilous journey across the United States, constantly evading capture. Will they be caught by the government, intent on harnessing Cassie’s powers as a weapon? And who can they truly trust as the stakes get higher and the world’s future hangs in the balance? Prepare for a twisted, high-stakes adventure as Cassie’s destiny intertwines with the forces of good and evil, where the ultimate battle for survival and freedom awaits.
