Frank Lloyd Wright in Kalamazoo
Sharon Ferraro, Kalamazoo’s Historic Preservation Coordinator
Kalamazoo County (MI) boasts one of the largest collections of Usonian Houses in the world. Just after WWII, a group of young scientists from Upjohn worked together to build their homes based on Wright’s Usonian concepts. In this presentation, Sharon Ferraro, Kalamazoo’s Historic Preservation Coordinator, explores Wright’s architectural philosophy and shares anecdotes about how his designs worked in Kalamazoo.
