Jay Wesley from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources talks about the history of threats to the Great Lakes (pollution, habitat destruction, and over-harvest of fish) as well as new biological threats through invasive species and how they have contributed to a new food web in the Great Lakes, especially in Lakes Huron and Michigan. Presented on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at the Eastwood Branch of Kalamazoo Public Library as part of Reading Together 2015 programming, centering around the themes presented in Jerry Dennis’s “The Living Great Lakes: Searching for the Heart of the Inland Seas.”
