Stay Cool at KPL
All KPL Locations are a Great Place to Cool Off During the Heatwave
Kalamazoo is under an Excessive Heat Warning Thursday through Saturday. Hot temperatures combined with oppressive humidity levels will raise the heat index to 102–104 degrees. These temperatures can be lethal, especially to the elderly and children.
We welcome our community members to come to any KPL location during open hours to escape the heat, enjoy our air conditioning and stay hydrated with our water fountains and bottle fillers. If you know of anyone who does not have A/C, encourage them to go to their nearest KPL location for relief.
Our friends at Gryphon Place have shared the following information regarding cooling centers, open hydrants as well as some beat the heat safety tips. Thank you to Gryphon Place!
