All – In at KPL!

To promote an understanding and appreciation of the world and its people.

Research tells us that between the ages of two and five years old, children become aware of gender, culture, ethnicity, disability, family differences, and economic class. Some adults feel uncomfortable talking about these topics. Sharing great picture books together, and early on, is a wonderful way to start these conversations.

The All-In collection at the Kalamazoo Public Library provides parents and caregivers with the opportunity to discuss differences and nurture an understanding and appreciation for the world and all living things.

Each bag contains quality picture books and a toy or activity based on a certain topic. There is also information included in each bag about its contents and how to begin playing and talking about the topic.
