Summary

In September 1975, the FCC allocated channel 299, a class B FM broadcast facility, to Kalamazoo, Michigan.1 Four applicants competed before the Commission for this channel--Radio Portage, Inc., WHW Enterprises, Inc., the Air-Borne Group, Ltd., and Sear Broadcasting Company. Of the four, only WHW proposed Kalamazoo as its city of license; the other three applicants proposed to locate their stations in Portage, a separate contiguous community.
