Summary

Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë face a life of hardship. Trapped at home with very few opportunities, they share the burden of supporting their father Patrick and their troubled brother Branwell, who has lost his way in life. For years, the sisters have escaped into an imaginative fantasy world of stories and poems, without any hope of publication. But as their family situation worsens, Charlotte sees that writing novels could offer a way out.
