Summary

In WNMU-TV's documentary, people living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan recall World War II, sharing images and stories from the battlefields of Asia and Europe, and the hometowns residents know and love. WNMU-TV travelled across the U.P., interviewing veterans, historians, and others who lived through the war. They talked about the military life, the battles on land and sea, the heroes, and the home front here in the U.P. Residents shared their memories and their personal photographs that, together with vintage newsreels and film footage, paint a vivid image of victory and of loss.
