Summary
In this dark thriller, Doc Levy (Roy Scheider) an American secret agent, is killed at the request of an escaped Nazi war criminal Szell (Laurence Olivier). Believing that Doc has stolen a valuable cache of gems, Szell kidnaps Doc's brother Babe (Dustin Hoffman) and attempts to extract information from him using the sadistic methods he practiced as a concentration camp dentist. Babe escapes but not without breaking his own self-imposed rule of nonviolence. MARATHON MAN traces Babe Levy's progression from pacifistic naif to cynical street-smart scrapper.
