Summary
Amateur painters get their chance to shine in this warm, engaging series that follows 10 people competing to be named Britain's best amateur artist. Over the course of the series, these artists showcase their creativity and skill as they are taken to some of the UK's most visually stunning and diverse locations to face increasingly complex traditional and figurative art challenges. These range from painting the beautiful Northumberland landscape at Alnwick castle, to capturing the Liverpool skyline from across the Mersey; from sketching the passion and movement of a Flamenco performance, to still life painting in Blenheim Palace. Experts Lachlan Goudie and Daphne Todd OBE are on hand to critique their every brushstroke, decide who leaves at the end of each episode - and ultimately who wins The Big Painting Challenge.
