Summary
Brian Quigley has his eye on Fitzgerald's bar, which is being sold at auction following Assumpta's tragic death. But his plans could be thwarted by the appearance of wealthy Mrs Bella Mooney, who has aspirations of her own - and by the reluctance of his daughter, Niamh, to run the place with him. The villagers eagerly anticipate the arrival of their new priest, Father Aidan O'Connell, but it is his sister, the wild and beautiful Orla - fresh from backpacking round the Far East and Tasmania - who attracts more interest, particularly as the priest seems to have gone walkabout after 10 years in a monastery.
