Helge Thorsen er en norsk forfatter. Etter å ha vært bonde på gården Madsoy i mange år, begynte han å arbeide i offentlige virksomheter. Han har hatt ledende stillinger både innenfor statlige og kommunale myndigheter i Norge. Helge Thorsen er utdannet jurist og har i tillegg en mastergrad innenfor offentlig forvaltning. Etter et langt yrkesliv er han nå delvis pensjonist. Ideen om å skrive barnebøker om tiden på gårdsbruket, der hovedkarakteren Tsar Pegasus opptrer, fikk han mens han var skipper på en charterbåt og seilte i Karibien i 2023. I denne serien blir gården og det daglige livet der brukt som bakteppe for historiene. Tsar Pegasus-serien vil bestå av 10 bøker.
