Summary

The movements of populations across the Earth have been a process accompanying the entire history of humanity. Even today, people from around the world migrate between different regions in search of a better life. This is the case for thousands of Congolese who rush towards the United States of America as refugees, asylum seekers, or winners of the DV Lottery. There are also those who haven't had the chance to obtain a regular visa from an embassy and who risk everything to leave their home country. Among them, we find men, women, and children from various backgrounds: some are highly educated with degrees from prestigious universities worldwide, while others hold academic titles and achievements but are confined to various jobs due to integration difficulties and a lack of proficiency in the English language. This goes to show that the climb towards the summit of happiness cannot be achieved without sacrifices. Have Congolese immigrants in the United States realized the much-talked-about "American Dream"? One of them shares their story.
