Summary

"Moonlit Valley" is a collection of original poems and illustrations expressing one author's continued journey to work through depression, anxiety, and poor self-esteem. It is all about finding a safe space after escaping the darkest of places, and the fear of then leaving the comfort zone to venture on to better things and the struggles that come with recovering from trauma. You safely climbed down the mountain From your darkest place Years of extraneous work And found a valley There You lay amongst the flowers Beneath the sweet, cool light of the moon Cradled and cozy in the grass And the soothing, gentle breeze There is another climb ahead Another mountain waits A castle at the summit To journey on Means another struggle Before the safety of the next peak Its daunting You're safe here in the valley But this is just a pocket You want to grow You want to continue Yet it is so very peaceful here Secure amongst the flowers of the moon.
