Summary

The world of project management is evolving and requires constant adaptation of practices to guarantee success. The discussions held within the Lab Hybrid initiative have led to the development of this practical guide, which defines and illustrates "Hybrid" project management through concrete case studies. This guide describes eight specific professional situations reflecting the diversity of issues encountered and the solutions offered by Hybridization. ‌ The Hybrid approach goes beyond a methodological framework that encourages the mixing of tools and practices; it is innovative, essential and multidimensional. This has led to the structuring of these cases along three axes: governance, the methodological framework and the human dimension. ‌ This book is aimed at all project management professionals who want to learn lessons that can be applied to their own practices. "We want it to be simple, pragmatic, useful and usable by as many people as possible". The Lab Hybrid initiative is a diverse group of fourteen Project Management professionals who share over 300 years of experience and reflect together on the methods used. Their aim is to go beyond the oppositions between "Waterfall" and "Agile" and to adapt practices to meet the challenges imposed by the growing complexity of projects and their uncertainties. Throughout 2022, the group held discussion, reflection and experience-sharing sessions, leading to the drafting of this first practical guide. ‌ The Lab Hybrid community is keen to discuss this new approach with everyone involved, and to add further practical feedback to the guide.
