Summary

Hansel and Gretel are abandoned in the forest by their parents who are so poor they can no longer care for them. Lost and frightened they come upon a strange house made out of chocolate. As they are about to take a bite, the witch appears and puts Hansel in a cage to fatten him before cooking him and enslaves Gretel to do the housework. The children manage to escape in the nick of time and run deep into the forest. Suddenly, when they are more lost than ever, they hear a far-off voice calling out to them. It’s their father who comes looking for them and begs their forgiveness. Promising never to abandon them again, they live happily ever after. (Chocolate & Frostings)
