Raising Community Awareness
Since 1998, Ready to Read has celebrated national Stand for Children Day with a special story hour to focus community attention on the importance of sharing books with young children.
Kalamazoo County preschoolers, their parents, teachers, and childcare providers are invited to Bronson Park to hear stories read by community leaders and costumed storybook characters.
Each child receives healthy snacks and juice and a gift book courtesy of Kalamazoo Public Library.
