Masons in Michigan

Several months ago I attended a meeting in Grand Rapids and learned something surprising – Michigan has its own Masonic Museum. I met the director, Dirk Hughes, and was amazed to find out that not only do they have wonderful artifacts on display, but they also have thousands of books and photos. But the thing I was most excited to learn was that they hold the historical records for many of the Masonic lodges in Michigan. Think of what wonderful information a genealogist might be able to get about their ancestor who was a Mason in Michigan! I was very anxious to learn more about the history of Masons in Michigan and the museum so I invited Dirk to do a program for us. He will present Freemasonry: Its Global Ideas and Local Influence at the central library October 19, 7 pm. Whether you are a genealogist or a local history enthusiast, this program is sure to entertain and inform....
