The June Jubilee kicked off the summer season; gardens are planted, summer vacations are being planned, and schools almost out. Kids on summer break often have a lot of times on their hands, and I’d like to suggest a summer activity that should be both fun and worthwhile. How about planning weekly trips to the Friends Bookstore? For as little as 50¢ a child can own their own book. Most of our books are priced between 50¢ and $2.50. That makes starting ones very own library an affordable venture. It’s a nice way to encourage reading and to spend some quality time with your child or grandchild. Plan your visit soon. We are open four days a week, Wednesday through Saturday.
