Summer Self-Care Series: Yoga at Your Desk

Specifically for nonprofit employees, service providers, or helping professionals. Be at Ease! Find relief with Chair Yoga that can be done anywhere and at anytime!
Repetitive positions over a prolonged periods of time such as sitting, standing, texting, typing, driving, gardening, and other daily activities can cause a buildup of muscular tension and pain. Taking spontaneous stretch breaks throughout the day will help greatly in reducing and controlling these minor aches and pains that can become chronic if not attended to on a regular basis.
This accessible workshop is intended for any experience level, beginners are welcome. The workshop will begin with an opportunity to connect and check-in with each other before we transition into the practice. During the session, participants are welcome to ask questions to explore Yoga. Please contact ONEplace@kpl.gov if you have any questions.
The Summer Self-Care Series is presented in partnership with the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek Resiliency Project to combat burnout in the nonprofit sector by providing access to trauma-informed yoga and meditation.
All Kalamazoo Public Library events are free and open to the public unless otherwise indicated in the event description. A library card is not required to attend. Events where space is limited may require prior registration or a free ticket to attend. Registration and ticket requirements are indicated in the event description.
