Summer Self-Care Series: Guided Meditation (iRest)
Tuesday, August 27 @ 4:00 pm–6:00 pm
Specifically for nonprofit employees, service providers, or helping professionals. When practicing Integrative Restoration (iRest) you are guided through a 10-step meditation process. iRest is an evidence-based, mind-body approach which was developed by Dr. Richard Miller and associates. iRest is a transformative practice which promotes psychological, physical, and spiritual healing and well-being. iRest provides you with tools to help you relax deeply, release stress, and increase resiliency. People who practice iRest report reduced depression, fear, and anxiety. They also report reduced insomnia and chronic/acute pain.
This accessible workshop is intended for any experience level, beginners are welcome. The workshop will begin with an opportunity to connect and check-in with each other before we transition into the practice. During the session, participants are welcome to ask questions to explore iRest. Please contact ONEplace@kpl.gov if you have any questions.
The Summer Self-Care Series is presented in partnership with the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek Resiliency Project to combat burnout in the nonprofit sector by providing access to trauma-informed yoga and meditation.
Presented by June Scarberry, iRest® Level 1 Teacher.
