Racial Equity Workshop

Using powerful videos, open and honest dialogue, and interactive learning experiences, YWCA Racial Equity workshops work to create awareness, build personal and collective responsibility, and provide skills to challenge systemic racism in our daily lives and throughout our community. YWCA recognizes that individually we are all on a journey of continuous learning, especially when it comes to understanding racism and how it manifests in our lives. Racial Equity workshops not only support individuals seeking knowledge and awareness, but guides them toward implementing antiracist practices and policies in their place of work, play, or worship.
Participants will:
• Have shared language and analysis around privilege, power, and identity.
• Critically analyze local and national antiracist history.
• Understand the difference between individual, institutional, and systemic racism.
• Identify dominant culture values vs. equitable transformative values.

Because this workshop is an interactive experience, we must limit the number of participants. Our antiracism and equity workshops typically reach capacity and have a waitlist. While we hope you can make it, please let us know if your plans change so another person can join us.
