Building Relationships — Managing Others
Tuesday, September 24 @ 9:15 am–12:00 pm
Supervision Series #3
Learn how to create a great work environment by building healthy working relationships with your boss, staff, board, and other key constituents or stakeholders. You can’t get the job done if your relationships aren’t solid and well-focused.
Learning to manage others is at the heart of becoming a successful supervisor, and it has very little to do with filling out an annual performance appraisal form. Truly effective management is the cumulative result of daily interactions with those around you. Achieve the results needed by your organization, and the people it serves, by effectively managing the work and performance of the people you work with most closely … employees, volunteers, board, colleagues, etc.
Presented by Paul Knudstrup, president of Midwest Consulting Group, Inc. and author of The 8 Essential Skills for Supervisors & Managers.
Designed for entry to middle-level directors and managers in all areas of nonprofit organizations (executives, programs, services, administration, operations, fund development, communications — anyone who supervises other staff or volunteers).
The five sessions build upon each other, so committing to the entire course will provide the greatest benefit. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions at ONEplace@kpl.gov.
