Artists in Action – Featuring Audrey Mills

Fri, November 22 @ 2:00 pm4:00 pm

| Recurring Event (See all)

In conjunction with the traveling exhibition, Black Refractions: Highlights from The Studio in Harlem, The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is featuring Where We Stand: Black Artists in Southwest Michigan, an exhibition to celebrate local black artists. KPL has partnered with the KIA to feature one of the exhibiting artists at each KPL location.

The spotlight artist will work each day on a special piece that will be featured at the December Art Hop. Patrons will have the special opportunity to interact with an artist Monday through Friday, create art in the style of the artist, and participate in a very special program facilitated by the artist.

KPL welcomes artist Audrey Mills, a 2019 graduate of Kirk Newman Art School post-baccalaureate residency program, and holds a BFA with an emphasis in print media from the Gwen Frostic School of Art at Western Michigan University. Her work has been featured in various group exhibitions, including most recently in Text(ure) at Artlink Gallery in Fort Wayne, Indiana; ArtPrize 10 in Grand Rapids, MI; and the do it exhibition at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts.

Come to Central and watch Audrey Mills in action!

There will also be a special program featuring Audrey Mills on Thursday, November 21, 5 pm at Central Library. Registration required.
