Summary

Detective William Murdoch is still reeling from the news that he has a young son, as he seeks to protect the boy from the Black Hand crime gang. Inspector Brackenreid tries to trace his own wayward son, who has sprung loose from prison. Constable Crabtree must compromise himself to save his kidnapped girlfriend, and Dr. Julia Ogden confronts injustices at the hospital that push her towards a new path. In the midst of this, the team investigate death threats against Sigmund Freud, scandalous film images of actress Mary Pickford, a fatal civil-rights protest featuring W.E.B. Du Bois and Booker T. Washington, and a murder linked to the inventor of basketball--and they even stumble onto the private life of superspy Terrence Meyers.
