Summary

In his latest documentary odyssey, idiosyncratic and legendary filmmaker Werner Herzog turns the camera on himself and his decades-long friendship with the late author and adventurer Bruce Chatwin, a kindred spirit whose driving quest for poetic, ecstatic truth carried him to all corners of the globe. Herzog's deeply personal portrait of Chatwin, illuminated by eccentric archival discoveries, rarely-seen Herzog film clips, and Chatwin's one "cabinet of curiosities," encompasses their shared interest in aboriginal cultures, ancient rituals, nomadic mythologies and the sublime and elusive mysteries that bind together life on earth.
